We love nothing better than a name that tees up a great brand backstory. We admire this poetic brand name because it reinforces the brand’s story about their point of difference in a really charming way.

Hey, guys. It’s Rebeca with BrandTrue and I want to talk to you today about a really wonderful name and naming story. So this is about a bourbon called Angel’s Envy. And I love that name already. It’s very evocative and they play it out really well with their, you know, their logo and just their brand elements. But there’s an innovation at play in this that they’ve woven into the brand’s name so I just think it’s really, really rich.
So in distillation, in making spirits, there’s something called the angel’s share which is the part of it that you lose to evaporation, right? The angels drank that. And so there’s an innovation here where the master distiller found a way to decrease the evaporation. And so the claim, the benefit, is that the flavor is more concentrated and that’s why it’s Angel’s Envy, ’cause the angels were cheated of their share.
So it’s this great evocative name and it tees them up to tell a brand story which completely sets up a brand benefit. It’s like . It’s really, really beautiful. Oh my God, what a great name! That’s what I think. Let me know what you think. Bye!
