TRANSCRIPT:
Hey guys, it’s Rebeca with BrandTrue. And I just have to say pissing people off is not good. It’s not brand-building. I’ve been on a little bit of a rant lately because I get all of these emails within LinkedIn and also regular emails that are just really presumptuous and trying to act like it’s my obligation to answer someone that I never invited in. And I got a really bad one the other day and my colleague, Cha, got the same one on the same day and I’ve got to read, it said, “Hi, Rebeca. I’ve reached out a couple times, but I haven’t heard back. I’d appreciate a response to my email below.” And I wish I had on my glasses so I could slip them up my nose. I’m speechless!
Where do people get off assuming? I mean, it’s sort of like the junk mail that we get, snail mail, physically expecting us to answer. You get it, it doesn’t hit for you, you throw it away. It made me crazy. It makes me crazy. It’s made me not entirely rational how crazy it makes me. But I don’t think I’m the only one. Let me know what you think. What are we going to do about this? It’s nuts! Bye.
