The Deep Truths You & Your Brand Need To Say

Hey, nice ink! It’s Rebeca Arbona with BrandTrue and what I want to talk about is brands that people actually tattoo onto themselves, the logos onto themselves. I’m fascinated by this phenomenon. And, I want to talk to you about when it is that a brand is appropriate to tattoo. So, as far as I can tell, it has never changed that the most tattooed brand is Harley Davidson. And I get that, there’s a spirit of rebellion, there’s a real authentic feeling, that’s something that you might want to bring those attributes onto yourself and say, “I am this.” But I think that the rebellion piece has been going down as tattoos have become more and more mainstream over the last 20, 25 years. I think what remains is that brands that feel like they’re tribal, like it’s “us” as a group. Even if it’s a huge brand with lots of adherents like Harley, it’s still an us versus them thing. That’s when people want a tattoo. People love the brand Ikea, but they’re not going to put that on their butt, right?
