TRANSCRIPT:
Hey everyone, it’s Rebeca with BrandTrue and I want to do another one of our favorite, does this name suck videos? This one is about Mom Water, and thank you very much to Elizabeth O’Hara Brennan who sent this one in. You know, I love when you guys send suggestions. So I think that EB, as I know her, I think she hated this brand and I was kind of like “Mom Water?!” hating it too, until I ran the analysis and now I’m kind of feeling it.
So, let me take you through it. Mom Water is one of those canned, light alcoholic beverages. Most of them are seltzers or bubbly. This one isn’t. It’s flat, which I think is important too. Okay, so T, is it a Transparent communication? I think so. I think by saying Mom Water you sort of get that it’s alcohol. You totally get the intended target audience. So I think T, they’ve got it.
R, is it Really Real? Is it making you feel something? Is it connecting authentically in some way to the brand? They get a check for that as well because actually it started with this woman mixing it up for herself and writing on it Mom Water, so the wrong people didn’t grab it out of the cooler. So I kinda like it for the R’s.
Is it Unique? It really is. You know, all these like Trulys and different seltzer names blur together a little, this one stands out. And finally, is it Engaging? Clearly it didn’t engage my friend EB and it kinda didn’t engage me as well, but when I asked around and some people like Cha, who are the targets, said, “No, it speaks to me, I like it.” And so I think it’s engaging that way. And I also think it’s memorable. I’ve never once forgotten it, even when I wasn’t liking it. So for all those reasons, I think this brand name does not suck at all. Let me know what you think. Thanks! Bye.
