TRANSCRIPT:
– Hey guys, it’s Rebeca with BrandTrue and we’re going to talk about how choosing names is hard. If you’ve ever named a child, you may have learned that it’s better not to tell anyone the name until it’s too late, because everyone has an opinion. And for those of us that name things for a living, we deal with similar emotions, the similar situation that everyone has an opinion. With any commercial communication, it’s a creative exercise. But in my experience with naming things, it’s worse than ads. It’s worse than logos. It’s worse than packaging, where everybody has a point of view and where it takes a lot of effort to keep people on track. This is the strategy that we set out. These are the things that we all agreed we were going to communicate and let’s weigh the name against how well it does those things. It’s not about liking, it’s about communicating effectively. It’s tricky. It helps to have a professional at your side. So if you need naming help, let us know. But just, if you’re pregnant or expecting, just don’t tell your in-laws what the name is until it’s on the birth certificate. Trust me. Let me know what you think. Bye!
