Why Is Your Brand Is Falling Flat?
TRANSCRIPT:
Hey guys, it’s Rebeca with BrandTrue, and today what I want to do is a Battle of the Brands. We always enjoy those! This… we’re working with Patagonia and North Face. But I’m not taking those two brands against each other head-to-head. But we’re going one level down to sub-brands.
So being committed to the environment, outdoor gear brands in both cases, they both have programs to recycle their old clothing back through them. Patagonia, being Patagonia, did it first. And their clothing recycling program is called Worn Wear. Alright. Well now North Face, much more recently, has started with their own, and theirs is called Clothes the Loop. Now, little tricky to say, but it’s awfully clever. I just think it’s a lot better. Because Worn Wear, although it’s certainly a transparent communication, is also pretty completely without appeal. Wear sounds worn, and worn sounds worn. I mean, it’s just like, it sounds like old rags, whereas Clothes the Loop is much more about the circular, reduce, reuse, recycle, it’s better, and the cleverness is just engaging. It’s better on all fronts.
So that’s what I think. Let me know what you think. Thanks. Bye!
