TRANSCRIPT:
Okay guys, today we’re going to do… Oh, hello! I’m Rebeca, and we’re going to do a Battle of the Brands because you love them, I love them, we like to see fights. So this one is between two used car companies, Byrider and Carvana, and although their business is the same, one is clearly much better in the name department than the other.
I’m not gonna be coy and wait until the end, I’m gonna tell you now, I think Carvana wins. In terms of a Transparent communication, neither one of them is crazy transparent. They’re not “Used Cars ‘R Us”, but also, there’s hinting at transportation in both of them, although Carvana is more clear in terms of the category they’re competing in. In terms of R, are there any really reals, any authenticity, history, feeling? Byrider’s somewhat flat in that respect. Carvana, you start to get that sense of, ahhhh, it’s an exalted experience buying cars through them, so they’re pulling ahead on that one. Again, that’s two. Then U, uniqueness, they’re both pretty unique. Byrider having been around longer, it’s very familiar, but it doesn’t really sound like anything else. And then in terms of engaging, Byrider’s cute. It used to be JD Byrider, sounded like a person, even though it was made up. Now they’ve shortened it, kind of cute. Carvana, significantly cuter, and I think a little bit more memorable because it is a pun. I think that it sticks in your head more. So, that’s why I have Carvana winning this Battle of the Brands. What do you think? Let me know. I always love to hear from you. Thanks, bye!
